October ’23 C2 Kids Update

October 6th, 2023|

Hello C2 Kids’ Families,

It’s October, and we are “falling” in love with Jesus around here! Upward season wraps up on the 14th. Then, we begin prepping for our Chili Cook-off and BGMC Pie Auction on Sunday, October 29th. We need lots of pies and even more Pie eaters. Please sign up here to bake a pie or two or here to join the Chili cook off. Help us raise lots of money for BGMC!

C2 Kids Elementary Parents,

This month we are stepping into a new series called “The Loop!” We are talking about having a Durable Faith and Suiting up! You will see our memory verse builds each week, so stay on top of it. We are going to try this out because I think we are all ready for this kind of faith stretching exercise.

We just celebrated our 3rd MVP Party. This time, we asked our students to learn 10 of the 12 Memory Verses. 32 of our C2 Kids met this challenge!!!  This Sunday, we started working toward our next MVP party on January 7th!!!

October 1, 2023 – Free Fall Faith: How can you put your faith into action?
“For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all the belongs to Christ.” Hebrews 3:14
Parent Conversation:  What do you think we can learn from today’s verse? What does it look like to put your faith into action throughout an entire lifetime? Do you know anyone like that? If yes, what are they like?

October 8, 2023 – For your eyes only: How do you define the word supernatural?
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” Ephesians 6:10
Parent Conversation: Why do you think it can be so hard to fight lies, shame, and temptations?

October 15, 2023 – Classified Gear: How do you face your struggles?
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” Ephesians 6:10-11
Parent Conversation: We are learning about the invisible battle between good and evil. Share with your child about an invisible battle you have faced.

October 22, 2023 – Spiritual Decoder: Who is the Holy Spirit?
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Our fight is not against human beings. It is against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly world” Ephesians 6:10-12
Parent Conversation:  When you’re struggling because you’re waiting for God’s plan to win out against evil… Where can you go for help? Who can you talk to about it?

October 29, 2023 – Nex-Gen Sunday
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Our fight is not against human beings. It is against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly world. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” Ephesians 6:10-13
Kids will be joining us IN SERVICE at 10AM.

Please join us through the YouVersion Bible App Plans for “Durable Faith” (click here) and “Suit Up” to follow along in these devotions. There are 2 different plans this month. I am excited for our kids to study God’s word at home.  You can find the verses and devotion links on our C2 Kids Facebook page.

C2 Kids Preschool Parents,

This month we are saying, “Goodbye Fear! God is here!”  You can click this link to join the “Roaring Rescue” plan on the YouVersion Bible App. Shine and Emily teach our preschoolers a memory verse, a key truth, and a song to help our littles put fear aside and build up their faith in this 6 day devotional series.

Our C2 Preschool memory verse for this month is, “The LORD your God…says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”  Isaiah 41:13. Please work with your preschooler to learn this! We will go over it every week for the month of October.

We are looking for Buddies to volunteer in our preschool program. Our desire is for a consistent member with loads of love and patience to serve some of our preschoolers who may need more focused attention.  God’s desire is for all to know Him. Some people need us to show them Jesus in different ways so we are trying out a few news ways. If you would like to jump in and help out with our new special needs ministry, please let me know.

C2 Kids Nursery Parents,

This is the fastest growing ministry in our church. It is so fun watching all the growing baby bumps and feeling the anticipation of new little ones, but with all that joy comes the need for more volunteers. If you can give one Sunday a month to hold babies, we would appreciate it. Michelle Crutcher is our Nursery coordinator, and she would love to add you to the schedule.

If you want a great song to add to your song list, we are introducing  Evvie McKinney’s “Ephesians 6” to C2 Kids this week. Play it in your car, and see if you aren’t humming it all day long too!

Have a great month!

September ’23 C2 Kids Update

September 13th, 2023|

Hello C2 Kids’ Families,

It is September! Upward soccer is in full swing. It is the perfect season for roasting marshmallows and enjoying time outside. I hope you all are finding great family moments and also quiet moments to talk about Jesus together. “Mom and Dad remain the most powerful influencers of children and their faith” Click here to read this article about passing on your faith to your kids. Your kids are watching you. They see when you open your Bible to read and when you kneel to pray. The most powerful things you can do are pray over your children and read God’s word with them.

C2 Kids Elementary Parents,

This month we will finish up a series on “Influence” and start one called “Spread the Word.” It is so important that we remind our kids that they can be leaders. They can  stand up to evil and share the hope of Jesus as they head off to their schools.

September 3, 2023 –  Fight evil and make a difference!
“Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.” Romans 12:21
Parent Conversation:  I often tell my kids, be a builder not a destroyer. Point out ways your kids can be a builder. You know the situations they are facing with friends or classmates. Help them lead people to Jesus.

September 10, 2023 –  People learn about Jesus when I share God’s Good News!
“…Go into all the world and preach the good news to everyone.” Matthew 16:15
Parent Conversation: How can your family share the good news to people who haven’t heard?

September 17, 2023 –  Share your love loud!
“If I don’t have love, I am only a loud gong or a noisy cymbal.” 1 Corinthians 13:1
Parent Conversation: What is the difference between loud and loving? What are the best ways for people to see Jesus in us?

September 24, 2023 –  Share your shine. People learn about Jesus when I live like Him.
“Let your good deeds shine out for all to see so that everyone will praise your Heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:16
Parent Conversation:  What are some attributes you see in your kids’ lives that reveal Jesus in them? Take some time to build up your child today.

Please join us through the you version Bible App Plans for “Spread the Word” (click here) to follow along in this devotion. It is a 8 day plan that will help us spread the word so more people will know about Jesus. You can also find them weekly on our C2 Kids Facebook page.

C2 Kids Preschool Parents,

This month we start at the beginning! You can click this link to join the “In The Beginning” plan on the YouVersion Bible App. Shine and Emily teach our preschoolers a memory verse, a key truth, and a song to help the message stick in this 8 day devotional series.

Our C2 Preschool memory verse for this month is, “How you made me is amazing and wonderful!” Psalm 139:14. Please work with your preschooler to learn this! We will go over it every week for the month of September.

C2 Kids Nursery Parents,

This may be the fastest growing ministry in our church. It is so fun watching all the growing baby bumps and feeling the anticipation of new little ones, but with all that joy comes the need for more volunteers. If you can give one Sunday a month to hold babies, we would appreciate it . Michelle Crutcher is our Nursery coordinator, and she would love to add you to the schedule.

August ’23 C2 Kids Update

August 9th, 2023|

Hello C2 Kids’ Families,

I secretly dread August. It means the end of lazy summer days and enjoying having my kids home from school. Routine is returning, which means having to be a little more prepared for crockpot dinners in between homework and sports practices. I know routine is important and so are the lessons learned in school and on the athletic field. I also know that routine helps me stay more on track with my Bible reading and with intentional family time. I hope you are already thinking about those intentional moments with your kids. Maybe this is the year that you decide you are going to complete the Bible plan devotions with your kids or that you are going to learn the verses with them. Put them up in the car and say them on the way to and from school. Begin your day quoting God’s word and see if it makes a difference. It’s easier to have a respectful conversation with your child if you have just invited God’s word into that conversation.

C2 Kids Elementary Parents,

This month we will finish up our faith series and then jump into a series called Influence.  Remember, the verses are listed for the week we learn them, so they are recited the following week. You can also find them weekly on our C2 Kids Facebook page or on our church website under C2 Kids.

August 6, 2023 – I can show my faith to grow my faith.
“Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works.”  James 2:26
Parent Conversation: What are some good things people can do to keep their faith in Jesus healthy?

August 13, 2023 – Think. Pray. Then Follow
“…if a blind person leads another who is blind, both of them will fall into a pit,” Matthew 15:14
Parent Conversation: What do you think makes Jesus the best example to follow?

August 20, 2023 –  Kids can be a godly example!
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young. Set an example for the believers in what you say and in how you live. …” 1 Timothy 4:12.
Parent Conversation: Talk to your child about a time that you have learned from them. Encourage them that God can use them and has used them.

August 27, 2023 – I can obey the leaders God gave me.
Dress in shorts and tennis shoes.  We are playing Nuke’em at the end of service!!!
“Children, always obey your parents, for this pleases the Lord.” Colossians 3:20
Parent Conversation:  Maybe you disobeyed your parents and need to tell your kids about what that disobedience caused to your relationship and how you mended it and learned from it.

I challenge you to take the last few days of summer and do this  “Red Letter Challenge for kids” (click here) devotion. It is an 11 day plan on the YouVersion Bible App. It takes 21 days to establish a routine. This could be the start of a whole new spiritual growth for you and your kids.

C2 Kids Preschool Parents,

Thank you for your patience during our renovation phase. We are excited about the crisp newly painted walls, hallway and our amazing floors. The preschool area is looking great and is ready for our little ones to learn about Jesus in!!! This month we will learn what is the church, who is welcome and that we all have a part in God’s family. You can  click this link to join  the “Everybody’s Welcome” plan on  the YouVersion Bible App. Shine and Emily teach our preschoolers in this 6 day devotional series. They will learn actions to help memorize their Bible verse and learn new songs so they can worship God. We are really going to focus on having our preschoolers learn a Bible verse each month.

Our C2 Preschool memory verse for this month is, “…the family of God is the church.” 1 Timothy 3:15

C2 Kids Nursery Parents,

George Barna said, “In the race to a child’s heart, the first one there wins.” Help us be the first one to reach them. Our nursery is growing quickly,  Michelle Crutcher is our Nursery Coordinator, and she will help you plug in to one week a month to serve on a team. Serving builds relationships in your life and cares for some of our young families.  I would like to share a great article that explains serving in our nursery best,  “Nursery is not Babysitting. There is also a link to this article on our C2 Kids Facebook page.

We had a great time at Kids Camp. It was Matt’s first time at Kids Camp. He had the boys tying ties and came home hoarse from all the orange team cheers! My van was silent with a group of chatty Kathys who were knocked out in exhaustion… so we must have all had fun. God was present and really stirred hearts. One of my favorite memories is watching all the kids with arms held high in worship. I can only imagine how precious this is to Jesus! If your kids didn’t go this year, make plans for next year. There is just something about getting away that lets us draw closer to Jesus!

A huge Highlight at camp was our BGMC offering!!! We turned in $6,094.75 that will be matched to $12,189.50!!! We brought more than half of the $10,000 that was matched to $20,000!!! Thank you for Supporting BGMC!

Have a great month! Matt and I pray that these last few weeks of summer will prepare you for everything that God has for your family during this upcoming school year! Our prayer is that God will help you prioritize Him first and that He will lead your schedules, your relationships and your focus.

July ’23 C2 Kids Update

June 30th, 2023|

Hello C2 Kids’ Families,

It is always fun celebrating with our students as they hit huge milestones in their lives. We welcomed 8 preschool graduates into C2 Kids Elementary and promoted 16 students on to youth. We are so proud of what these students have learned and what they will continue to do for our church and for God’s kingdom.

Our Rec Crew kids are so much fun. We had a great outing to Rock Bridge State Park and then a productive day preparing for worship in C2 Kids. These student leaders have really stepped up to lead our small groups and to help care for younger students in every area of children’s ministry. They are learning to see needs and to problem solve ways to meet those needs. It is amazing!

C2 Kids Elementary Parents,

We are leaving for Camp on July 5th. If you follow the C2 Kids Facebook page,  I have posted a daily prayer guide to pray over the campers beginning on Tuesday before we leave. We would love for all of you to pray for us while we are away.

We are starting fresh on our Bible Verses. Our next MVP party is on Sept 24th.This time each student needs to know 9 Bible verses!!!  Remember the verses are listed for the week we learn them, so they are recited the following week. You can also find them weekly on our C2 Kids Facebook page or on our church website under the C2 Kids.

July 9, 2023 – Water Day for C2 Kids Elementary Students
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14
Parent Conversation: When is a time that you stood still and let God fight for you? Have you ever tried to fight alone? What was different about the two situations?

July 16, 2023 – When you have faith in Jesus, share it!
“…it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.” Romans 10:10
Parent Conversation: Talk about some different things you’d like to do to share your faith in Jesus.

July 23, 2023, Missions Sunday – I have faith when I choose to follow Jesus
“Faith is being sure of what we hope for. It is being certain of what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1
Parent Conversation: If someone didn’t know what faith is, what would you tell them?

July 30, 2023 – When I have faith in Jesus, I can give generously
“And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.” Hebrews 13:16
Parent Conversation: Talk about some ways God has been generous to us.

If you would like to follow along with the Bible study we are doing in C2 Kids, join us for the “Faith Facts for Kids” (click here) devotion. It is a 8 day plan on the YouVersion Bible App. This is a great way to motivate your kids to do something good during their summer break!

C2 Kids Preschool Parents,

There are a few exciting changes going on in our preschool area. The walls are being painted and new flooring is going in. So during our beautification phase during the whole month of July, we will have C2 Kids Preschool meeting in the middle school classroom closest to our school bathrooms. Our lessons will be the same as always, just in a different room. If you would like to follow along at home with the devotions your preschoolers are doing during class, click this link to join  the “God’s Good News” plan on YouVersion. Shine and Emily teach our preschoolers that God has good plans for them in this 6 day devotional series. They will learn actions to help memorize their Bible verse and learn new songs so they can worship God. We are really going to focus on having our preschoolers learn a Bible verse each month.

Our C2 Preschool memory verse for this month is, “…It is useful for teaching us what is true.” 2 Timothy 3:16

C2 Kids Nursery Parents,

Our nursery is growing by leaps and bounds. If you would like to join our Nursery ministry team and help hold babies once a month, please talk to Michelle Crutcher, our Nursery Coordinator. There is no greater gift to parents of little ones than to be able to worship God knowing their baby is safe and loved. You can sign up to serve once a month and bless so many.

Kids Camp is coming up July 5th – 8th. We will have a short parent meeting on Sunday, June 18th right after church in the C2 Kids auditorium. Come with your questions, and I will do my best to give you answers.

Graduations continue into Kids’ Ministry. Our preschoolers are moving up to elementary on June 4th, and it is also the last day for our 5th graders to be students in Kids’ Ministry. We are excited to celebrate our graduates. Please make sure to have them in church on time so we can recognize them.

Have a great month! We hope to see you around C2 Kids for all kinds of summer fun!

June ’23 C2 Kids Update

June 2nd, 2023|

Hello C2 Kids’ Families,

Summer is officially here! It’s time to celebrate our Dads! We are thankful for you Dads, Grandpas, and Great Grandpas who have chosen to lead your families. We pray blessings and wisdom over you. We know the mantle you carry is huge, and we are grateful for you.

The past few months have flown by, and lots of things are going on in Kids’ Ministry. Our Rec Crew is up and running!!! It has been amazing watching our middle schoolers step up into leadership and service. They are now meeting before church to prepare for our services, leading our small group time, and serving in nursery and in preschool. Matt and I are so blessed by each of them. Thank you parents for showing up early. It is so encouraging for us to see so many of them transitioning into youth as a group of friends! We hope to keep building those relationships with special events just for them. Our first one is to Rock Bridge State park for a hike and then lunch. Then back to the church for some planning on June 19th. Please make plans for them to be a part of this.

We are looking forward to our Family Board Game Fun. Don’t forget to register so we can prepare for you and your family and friends. Invite someone to join you June 11th from 3-5 p.m.

Micah Brack is our spotlight volunteer. Micah joined our C2 Kids team this year and has left us wondering what we ever did without him. He has been involved in Kids ministry for about 7 years at previous churches which explains all his wisdom! He runs for the vacuum as soon as church is over and leaves our auditorium spotless!!! His presence brings calm to our squirmy boys so they can focus on learning about Jesus. He says Kids ministry has taught him how to share Christ with people of different ages and to show God’s love, forgiveness and grace and to build relationships with kids. His favorite verse is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” He also loves EVERY kind of COOKIE! Thank you Micah for loving C2 Kids!!!

C2 Kids Elementary Parents,

Memory verse party is coming up on Sunday, June 25th for all the kids who have memorized 8 verses. There is still time to make up the verses that they have missed. I am happy to FaceTime or meet before or stay after service to listen to memories verses.  Remember the verses are listed for the week we learn them, so they are recited the following week. You can also find them on our C2 Kids Facebook page.

June 4, 2023 – I’m on a mission to go fishing — for people!
“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” Matthew 4:19
Parent Conversation: Who is someone you can share your faith with? Take a moment to think and share with your child. Then, pray and ask God to lead you into an opportunity to share with that person.

June 11, 2023 – It’s okay to disagree—just do so respectfully.
“Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” Colossians 4:6
Parent Conversation: Talk about building relationships and share a time you disagreed respectfully with a friend and saved the friendship.

June 18, 2023 – I’m well-known because God knows me well.
“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart…” Jeremiah 1:5.
Parent Conversation: Share how you have learned about God with your kids. Is it through experiences? Studying? Church? How can you as a family know God more? Make a plan together for how you can learn more about God.

June 25, 2023 – I can be thankful when things are good—and when they’re not..
“Give thanks no matter what happened. God wants you to thank him because you believe in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18.
Parent Conversation: What is something hard that you went through that you can now see how God used it in your life, and you are now thankful for it?

If you would like to follow along with the Bible study we are doing in C2 Kids, join us for the “Kids Make a Difference” (click here) devotion. C2 Kids Nursery Parents,

May ’23 C2 Kids Update

May 2nd, 2023|

Hello C2 Kids’ Families,

Yay! It is May! Let the celebration of mothers begin.  Paint tiny handprints on everything and anoint every mom with slobbery toddler kisses. It really is a special day to acknowledge the woman in our life who gives and gives and really only wants to see us happy.  Thank you C2 Kids’ moms for raising your  little ones in church and teaching them about Jesus. Proverbs 31:25 says, “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.” I know you don’t always feel like you are the picture of strength and dignity, and many days feel like they are more of a struggle than a victory lap.  But to your little ones, you are beauty and strength, and they think there is nothing you can’t do…and we know, “with God, all things are possible.”

May 1st is the last day for KIDS CAMP Registration!!! Please fill out the online form today! Turn your paper form in this Sunday. We have two more  fundraisers coming up to help send more kids to camp.

Maggie is our spotlight volunteer. She has served faithfully for the past 5 years at C2, and she has been volunteering for nursery duty for the last 20 years! WOW! While serving in our nursery, she is constantly reminded of the value of teamwork and loves the relationships she has made with the babies, parents and other volunteers. Her favorite Bible Verse is, “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matthew 6:34. I bet you didn’t know that Maggie has a dog named Ginger that she sometimes creates coordinating outfits for. She is also the most talented sugar cookie designer around! Three cheers for Maggie for being our superstar back in nursery!

C2 Kids Elementary Parents,

We ended last month with the Chi Alpha Worship Experience. So how cool is it that this month we are going to deep dive the topic of worship for our lessons. Remember the verses are listed for the week we learn them so they are recited the following week. You can also find them on our C2 Kids Facebook page.

April 30, 2023 – Chi Alpha Worship Experience.
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name.” Psalm 103:1

May 7, 2023 — I’ll worship God with all my heart.
“True worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and in truth…” John 4:23
Parent Conversation: What do you think Kids need to know about Worshipping God?

May 14, 2023 — I can worship God all the time.
“I will praise you everyday; yes, I will praise you forever.” Psalm 145:2
Parent Conversation: What is so great about choosing to worship God when you are sad or mad?

May 21, 2023 — God deserves my worship
“You are worthy our Lord and God to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things…” Revelations 4:11
Parent Conversation: If someone asked you what God did to deserve your worship, what would you say?

May 28, 2023 — Lots of things are fun but God is Number one.
“Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.” Luke 4:8
Parent Conversation: How do you think a kid can do things they love and worship God at the same time?

If you would like to follow along with the Bible study we are doing in Surge, join us for the a “Week of Worship” (click here) devotion. It is a 7 day plan on the YouVersion Bible App. These devotions are great ways to help kids establish a daily devotion time. I really encourage parents to walk through this one with your kids.

C2 Kids Preschool Parents,

If you would like to follow along at home with the devotions your preschoolers are doing during Zoom, click this link to join  the “Stones, slings and Giant Things” plan on YouVersion. This month, we are learning my heart can match God’s heart when I get to know Him.. This 6 day plan has songs and a memory verse for your preschooler to enjoy as they learn God’s truth.

Our C2 Preschool memory verse for this month is, “…be ready to do what is good.” Titus 3:1

C2 Kids Nursery Parents,

If you would like to join our Nursery ministry team and help hold babies once a month, please talk to Michelle Crutcher, our Nursery Coordinator. There is no greater gift to parents of little ones than to be able to worship knowing their baby is safe and loved.

Our Rec Crew is our new middle school ministry. Our Rec Crew Bible study starts each Sunday at 9:15 a.m. Then, these 5th – 8th grade students, along  with their student leaders, dive into God’s Word before service and  prepare to serve all over our C2 Kids ministries. Make plans now to have them here by 9:15 a.m. every Sunday.

If you are looking for a fun way to teach your kids Bible verses, Kyle Jorris has a new album out called “Godspeed.” You can listen on any platform you stream music.

April ’23 C2 Kids Update

March 28th, 2023|

 Hello C2 Kids’ Families,

April is here! The flowers are blooming, and the grass is growing again! It really is a wonderful month for families to make special memories. When my boys were little, we made Empty Tomb Rolls. They are so easy and delicious AND a great opener for a conversation that has eternal rewards. You could also share some with your neighbors to start a Jesus conversation with them too. It could lead to an invitation to join us at C2!

Check-In Hours Changing!

As of April 2, 2023, C2 Kids Check-in will close at 10:15 each Sunday. This is a safety procedure that gives us an accurate count of children in all our areas in case of an emergency. If you arrive after 10:15, your child can sit through service with you in the main auditorium, or you can watch from the Venue. Also, please make sure that your child is checked in each Sunday through our system and is given a printed name tag to ensure a more secure dismissal. Children need to be taken to their assigned room and are not allowed to leave that room without prior approval. If changes need to be made to your child’s information, please see the C2 Kids Check-In Volunteer or contact Pastor Jennifer at jenniferd@c2church.com. Thank you for your help!

Speaking of joining us at church, have you signed up to host a trunk for our Easter Trunk Hop Along? April 2nd is the last day to do sign up . Then after Easter service, all the kids can bring their baskets and enjoy the Hop-along to all the trunks for Easter treats!

KIDS CAMP Registration is open until May 1st!!! Please fill out the online form and turn in your paper form before the May 1st deadline. There is also a place online to donate if  you would like to help with scholarships, so more of our C2 Kids and Youth can attend camp. It is a powerful week for the campers! There will be a short Parent information meeting on April 16th following service in Surge for anyone interested in going to camp.

Brynn serves as one of our head teachers in Zoom! She is amazing with the  preschoolers. Brynn loves Proverbs 3:5-6. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and He will make your path straight.” The preschoolers have taught her to “Lead with flexibility!”She says that if you and the kids are going to have fun, you just can’t control everything! Brynn loves Starbucks coffee and snacks of all kinds!! If you spot her around C2 Kids, let her know how much you appreciate her faithfulness and love for our C2 Kids.

Our Rec Crew is our new middle school ministry. Our Rec Crew Bible study begins April 16th at 9:15 a.m. These 5th and 6th grade students along with their student leaders will be diving into God’s word before church starts every Sunday. Then, they will be serving all over our C2 Kids ministry; in our nursery, preschool, check-in, elementary school worship, and leading our groups! Many times, these transitional years are really hard, but we are locking arms with our middle schoolers and helping them find a place to grow, serve and connect with C2 Students as they transition into youth

group.

Surge Parents,

In March, our lessons were about the Inner You, learning about feelings and how sometimes our feelings lead us off course, but God can correct our steps. This month, we are tackling God’s grace. I heard someone describe His love and grace as scandalous! His love was so lavish that the religious people in his day thought his expression of kindness and grace toward sinners was outrageous and in opposition to the law. Oh that we could learn to love and show grace like He has shown us!  He died for us when we were still his enemies. Let’s be people known for His scandalous love. Each week we have a Bible verse to learn and a parent conversation starter for you to engage your child in a God-centered conversation at home. Remember the verses are listed for the week we learn them so they are recited the following week. You can also find them on our C2 Kids Facebook page.

April 2, 2023 – My heart doesn’t measure up, but God’s grace can clean it up
“Everyone has sinned. No one measures up to God’s glory. Romans 3:23
Parent Conversation: Some people say, “Follow your heart.” When do you think that’s good advice and when do you think it’s bad advice?

April 9, 2023 – Jesus makes me God’s friend when I choose to follow Him.
“Say with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord.’ Believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. Then you will be saved.” Romans 10:9
Parent Conversation: God shows grace to you. How do you think you can show grace to others?

April 16, 2023 – Everyone Sins, but God’s grace wins.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of  God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23
Parent Conversation: What do you think God’s grace does for us when we choose to follow Jesus?

April 23, 2023 – God’s grace sets me free, and His Holy Spirit Changes me
“…live by the Holy Spirit’s power. Then you will not do what your sinful nature wants you to do.” Galatians 5:16
Parent Conversation: What do you want God’s Holy Spirit to help you change in your heart? Pray about it together.

April 30, 2023 – 5th Sunday Chi Alpha  Interactive Worship Experience
It is designed to bridge the gap between knowing and doing to bring true worship to life. We will go deeper into seven of the most common Hebrew words for praise and apply them in the moment. Get ready to experience worshipping God in some new ways!

If you would like to follow along with the Bible study we are doing in Surge, join us for the God’s Grace (click here) devotion. It is an 11-day plan on the YouVersion Bible App. These devotions are great ways to help kids establish a daily devotion time. Walking through them with your child can be the starter for awesome faith talks at home!

Zoom Parents,

If you would like to follow along at home with the devotions your preschoolers are doing during Zoom, click this link to join  the “It is Finished” plan on YouVersion. This month, we are learning to love like Jesus. This 6 day plan has songs and a memory verse for your preschooler to enjoy as they learn God’s truth.

Our Zoom memory verse for this month is, “…Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.”  John 13:34

Sprout Parents,

It has been awesome having Michelle Crutcher, our new nursery coordinator, welcoming our volunteers and families in nursery. I know that some of you have mentioned that it is refreshing having a familiar face to greet you at drop off.  I am super thankful that she has stepped up to help us make our nursery better. If you would like to join our ministry team and help hold babies once a month, please talk to Michelle. There is no greater gift to parents of little ones than to be able to worship knowing their baby is safe and loved.

Liz Curtis Higgs has written a great book on forgiveness called “The Parable fo the Lily.” I have enjoyed her books for years and was very excited to read her children’s books to my kids. She won me over with “Bad Girls of the Bible.” Finally, someone I could identify with! She has quite a few seasonal children’s books, and they are great for starting faith conversations in your home.

I shared Candace Cameron Bure’s Podcast on the C2 Kids Facebook page, and I wanted to add it here too. This season, her co-host is Heather MacFadyen from the “Don’t Mom Alone” podcast. I am confident the conversations these two moms share will be a great encouragement to the rest of us. I will continue to share event reminders and parenting resources on our Facebook page, so I encourage everyone to follow it!

We have a few Fundraising opportunities coming up this month to help send C2 Kids and Youth to Camp this Summer. Panera will donate 20% of our purchases on Wednesday, April 12th from 4-8 pm. Noodles and Company will donate 30% of our purchases all day on Saturday, April 22nd. Finally, Wendy’s will donate 15% of our purchases all day on May 3rd. All you have to do is show the fundraising flyer below at each location before placing your order. Please feel free to distribute the flyers, and make plans to invite some friends to join you!

March C2 Kids Update

February 28th, 2023|

Hello C2 Kids’ Families,

I can’t believe it is March and that Spring is finally here!  March is filled with so much fun…Our first ever C2 Belong Party and the Rec Crew Kick-off on March 5th after Sunday morning service, St. Patrick’s Day, Spring Break, the all-church work day and KIDS CAMP Registration opens!!! It is going to be a great month!

Have you ever read the  real story about St.  Patrick (click here) to your kids?  It has pirates, snakes, repentance, tons of prayer, missions and a really cool story about the trinity and a clover. Your kids will love it! Maybe you could make a bowl of potato soup or try some corned beef and read about him. We would love to have you and your kids join us on March 25th for the All-Church Brunch followed by a work day to get our building ready for our Easter guests. (Register Here)

Rec Crew is our new middle school ministry. All 5th and 6th graders are invited to join us on March 5th. We will attend the C2 Belong Party for lunch and then head back to Surge for a fun middle school gathering. We will wrap up around the same time.

Mya Hudson is our Spotlight Volunteer.  Mya began serving in C2 kids as a 6th grader after she graduated from Surge. She faithfully serves our preschoolers with her bestie, Brynn. Mya loves Hebrews 13:6  “So we can confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man  do to me?” Mya is thankful that serving in Zoom helped her connect to families and develop trustworthy relationships.  A fun fact about Mya is that she interns for Pastor Ryan and can often be spotted in NexGen office making things beautiful. She is artistic, and she makes amazing desserts! She likes Mr. Pibb and Peach Red Bull! If you spot her around C2 Kids, let her know how much you appreciate her energy and love for our C2 Kids.

Surge Parents,

Our last unit was Peer Relationships and learning to be a good friend. This month, we are dealing with our feelings. Zoom Parents,

If you would like to follow along at home with the devotions your preschoolers are doing during Zoom, click this link to join “The Brave and Beautiful Queen” plan on YouVersion. This month, we are learning that we can do really brave things with Jesus. This 6 day plan has songs and a memory verse for your preschooler to enjoy as they learn God’s truth.

Our Zoom memory verse for this month is, “…Be strong and brave…I will be with you everywhere you go.” Joshua 1:9

Sprout Parents,

I am excited to introduce you to Michelle Crutcher, our new nursery coordinator. She will be the friendly face you see around the nursery. Her role will be to care for our wonderful volunteers and to make sure that we have enough helpers each Sunday so that all of our Babies are being cared for. If you would like to join us and serve one Sunday a month, we would love to have you. Michelle will be around before service and after, so introduce yourself and your little one to her.

Max Lucado is one of my favorite authors. I was gifted “No Wonder They Call Him Savior” for graduation and loved how Max explained concepts so practically.  His book “3:16” is one I am reading this month in preparation for Easter.

February C2 Kids Update

February 1st, 2023|

Warm Winter Greetings,

February is a month I enjoy telling my family that I love them in a fun way. One year, I cut out hearts and wrote them silly notes and taped them to their door each night before I went to bed. They weren’t long thoughtful notes just funny things that I loved about each of them. Valentine’s Day came and went, but those silly notes stayed taped to their doors for a long time. We often try really hard to be creative or we think we have to spend lots of money to make a moment special, but sometimes its just a silly note that reminds someone you think their laugh is the greatest sound, or you love they way they stick their tongue out when they are doing their homework that makes them feel loved. I challenge you to take time to make your family feel special this month. It is ok to light candles, eat on the good plates, and speak words of love over your kids when you are having chicken nuggets. We eat chocolate fondue together every valentines, and we each say one thing we love about everyone. Lindsey and I normally cry. The boys usually laugh, but they have occasionally been choked up to by the love fest too. It’s a Team Daack tradition, and we hope you have one too!

Mr. Bill Logan is our Volunteer Spotlight. Mr. Bill has been serving in C2 Kids since 1992. He is great grandfather to Aiden and Asher Peck, two of our Surge Students. He even got to baptize his great grandson, Aiden last year. We all teared up as we watched. Bill’s favorite memory from C2 Kids is being in the gym full of kids and just enjoying all the activity. His favorite Bible Verse is,  “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10 Mr. Bill told me that he has learned more about the Bible trying to teach it to kids, and Matt and I agree with him on this. A fun fact about Mr. Bill is that he likes cold Pizza! We are all so thankful to have him lead small group time in Surge!!! If you see him around this month, let him know how much you appreciate the way he is blessing our next generation.

Surge Parents,
We just wrapped up our unit about Wise Choices. It was really good! Our new unit is about Peer Relationships. Each week we have a Bible verse to learn and a parent conversation starter for you to engage your kids in a God-centered conversation at home. We are also in the middle of our Super Bowl…“The Cereal Bowl!” So be prepared for a dress up day! Remember the verses are listed for the week we learn them so they are recited the following week.

February 5, 2023 – Love Everyone because God loves you.
The Final Four of our Cereal Bowl!
“…Love your enemies. Pray for those who hurt you.” Matthew 5:44
Parent Conversation: Share some safe ways to be kind to someone who has treated you badly

February 12, 2023 – Good friends are loyal
The Cereal BowlWear your favorite team attire (Any Sport!!!)
“A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.” Proverbs 17:17
Parent Conversation: What do you think it means to be a loyal friend?

February 19, 2023 – Alive Sunday Surge in service for our youth service
“So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.” Romans 6:11

February 26, 2023 – I can have peace even if my family fights.
“So let us do all we can to live in peace. And let us work hard to build up one another.” Romans 14:19
Parent Conversation: What advice would you give to someone whose family is fighting?

Our Zoom memory verse for this month is,

“God, create a pure heart in me. …” Psalms 51:10

We have partnered with axis.org (click here)  to give parents an extra resource for those challenging questions that arise on our journey of training up our kids in the way they should go. An Axis Membership delivers trustworthy, gospel-centered resources on the topics that make parenting such a challenge in this smartphone, social media world. This site addresses culture, technology, faith, identity, and hundreds of other challenging  topics through a Gospel-centered lens, making life’s tough conversations just a bit easer. The church has already paid for the membership. You just need to log in and sign up to start taking advantage of all this helpful information

Some of you have heard me mention that Matt and I are participating in the Bible Recap (click here). It’s a reading plan and accompanying podcast that walks you chronologically through the Bible in a year. There are short videos from the Bible Project that introduce each Book of the Bible, followed by the Bible reading, and then wrapped up with the podcast that adds historical details to the reading. The host, Tara-Leigh  Cobble is guest hosting with Candace Cameron Bure on her  podcast (click here)  this year. I am loving it and learning so much. If you aren’t ready to take on the Bible Recap yet, start with Candace’s Podcast. It might even make you ready to join the Bible Recap!!!

Have a great February! Love your families well!!!

How I fell in love with reading.

July 1st, 2022|

Do you remember the Reading Rainbow? If you’re old enough, you will remember LeVar Burton in the Reading Rainbow public service announcements during your morning cartoons. I don’t know about you, but I fell in love with reading in the fourth grade when my teacher read The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. He then read Where the Red Fern Grows to us and let me tell you – I was hooked!

My love of reading began at an early age and I developed a taste for fiction. In my later years I gained an appreciation for nonfiction books on topics like leadership. Now my bookshelves are filled with books on World War II, Ted Dekker’s thrillers, and various other books relating to all sorts of interests and hobbies.  There are just some things that I understand more when I read them. I know some people say they’re not good readers or they’re slow readers – and that’s OK. I don’t think the speed or your thoughts on how good you read should discourage you from picking up a book and diving in.  I think the more you read, the better you get at it just like with anything!

I’d encourage you to start reading more. Find something you are interested in, something you’ve always wanted to learn or know about, get recommendations from friends for good books, perhaps a mystery, history, or a sci-fi book. I like to read books that are in a series, that way I know that there is almost always a “next” book. Our book groups this summer here at C2 are designed for you – not only to read something, but to do it within the context of community. We want to have discussions, debates, and fellowship, which are crucial to the spiritual growth of any believer. Spiritual maturity comes best within the context of biblical community. It is in relationships that you develop and use both the fruit of the Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit. Biblical community also gives accountability which are all crucial to being the growth of any Christian. Without other people, none of these things are necessary or even possible. I hope you’ll dive into a book group this summer, build new friendships, and find greater community within the larger body of Christ here at C2.

I can’t wait to dive into a book together,
Pastor Jeremy Risner

Sabbatical FAQs

June 1st, 2020|

What is a Pastor’s sabbatical?2020-06-01T20:52:26-05:00

The word sabbatical has its roots in the Biblical concept of Sabbath (“to rest” or “to cease”). Sabbath

keeping is setting aside time that God consecrates and makes holy. Sabbath includes elements of rest,

disengagement, study, exploration, reflection and prayer. A pastor’s sabbatical is a time designated for the pastor to remove himself or herself from the routines of regular ministry and to experience a change in perspective, to receive spiritual nourishment, and to deepen one’s relationship with God.

Although some components of a sabbatical may sound a bit like vacation, a sabbatical is not a vacation

from the church. This is an opportunity for the pastor to reconnect with parts of his life that are important: God and family. Further it is a time to rest and reflect; to be renewed and refilled.

Times of sabbatical give pastors the opportunity to shape themselves as better shepherds and leaders for the church and give rise to a deeper reliance on the Holy Spirit in their life. The intent of the sabbatical is for the pastor to return to the congregation refreshed and renewed, ready to move forward into the next phase of our life together.

My company doesn’t give me 3 months of vacation, are sabbaticals normal for pastors?2020-06-01T20:53:34-05:00

Taking times of sabbatical are normal occurrences in pastoral ministry. Many churches have established policies of sabbatical leave, most often granted after every 7 years of ministry.

And yes, Sabbatical leaves are not common outside of ministry or academic institutions. To many people in the business community, this can seem like a strange idea. However, pastors are not CEO’s. Their role is to shepherd and lead God’s people and to do so requires them to seek God’s voice and spend time engaging God in different rhythms.

This seems very sudden, is everything okay? Are there health problems? Is there a problem with his leadership? Was he forced to do this?2020-06-01T20:54:37-05:00

Though you may be just hearing of this now, Pastor Jeremy and the Board have been planning this for more than a year and a half years. There are no negative reasons attached to this sabbatical and Pastor Jeremy and Darci are expected to resume regular ministry and continue to lead C2 for years to come.

Is he coming back?2020-06-01T20:55:36-05:00

Absolutely. Pastor Jeremy and Darci will not be seeking any other position or speaking at any other ministries throughout this sabbatical.

What will they be doing while on sabbatical?2020-06-01T20:57:07-05:00

Pastor Jeremy and Darci will be doing a number of things related to developing a deeper understanding of God’s voice in their lives including reading, counseling, and extended times of silence, meditation and reflection. A sabbatical is designed so ministers can receive, rather than give, by providing the time and space necessary for spiritual, emotional, physical, and relational renewal. It provides an intermission within the unending demands of daily ministry life. It is not additional vacation, an academic leave, nor an escape. They will spend their time resting, recharging, and being with their family.

Who will oversee the ministry during their absence?2020-06-01T20:59:06-05:00

Pastor LT Bowens will take on the responsibility of leading the ministry at C2. Additionally, our Board of Directors will provide oversight and support where needed. We have a great team of staff and volunteers that are fully capable of leading during this time.

What if I need them for something?2020-06-01T21:00:05-05:00

Pastor Jeremy and Darci will be unavailable throughout the period of sabbatical and it’s requested that you don’t try to contact them through email, Facebook, or by phone. If there is a care need, or you need pastoral guidance, you can contact the church office or email pastors@c2church.com

How can I best support our pastor and our church throughout this sabbatical time?2020-06-01T21:01:54-05:00
  • First, recognize that the church is not the pastor. This church does not belong to Pastor Jeremy and Darci. It belongs to Jesus. In fact, the Bible calls the church His “bride,” which means He loves it more

than any pastor ever could. So recognize that what you are a part of in this church goes far deeper

than the leadership of a single pastor.

  • Second, lean in, not out. It’s very normal for some of you to think this would be a great time for

you to take a break from ministry in either attendance, giving, or volunteering. Our hope is that this

won’t be the case for you. The church is a body that needs all of its parts doing what they do best.

Our church needs you and we hope that you take this opportunity to engage even deeper in our

church and find new ways to call this place your home.

  • Finally, pray for your pastor. Though there are many great things about spending an extended

period in this way, it can also be a struggle. Disconnecting from relationships for a period can be

painful and changing the day-to-day rhythms can leave one wondering about their purpose. Pray

for Pastor Jeremy and Darci’s journey through sabbatical and for their leadership to be renewed so that the church may benefit from what God is doing in them upon their return.

The One Where We Can See Each Other

May 15th, 2020|

Dear C2 Family,

We have exciting news for you! Beginning Sunday, May 31st, we are planning to begin family services on our campus. We will be having 3 identical services at 8:30AM, 10AM and 11:30AM. For those who want to worship with us from home, we will continue to provide our online service available at 10AM.  In our decision-making process, the team has desired to honor God, care for the C2 Church family, love and care for our neighbors, and scripturally submit to governing authority (Romans 13:1, 1 Peter 2:11-15).

We will be opening with reasonable safety guidelines in place, including ongoing sanitation and dedicated entry/exit points. At this time, we will not have our C2 Kids services which normally instructs children 6 weeks old-5th grade.  We will have an adjusted seating plan in the auditorium and overflow in the venue to accommodate social distancing. Because of the community guidelines in place, we are limited in our capacity and ask that you help us by reserving your seat(s). We will give more details and instructions on what to expect as we get closer to our reopening.

How you can help:

  • Stay up-to-date. Text “Update” to (573) 397-7389
  • Please go online to reserve your seat(s). This will help us plan accordingly for our space. We will announce the link in the coming weeks.
  • If you don’t feel well or have health concerns, please stay home and join us for church online at 10AM at C2Church.com or on Facebook @C2churchcomo.
  • If you would like to join our team in serving, you can see the opportunities and sign up HERE.

Until May 31st, we encourage you to gather with your Life Group or other friends, families, and neighbors in a reasonable group size to worship together! Yes, YOU THE CHURCH can lead the way even (and especially) outside the walls of the building. God’s greatest good and the church’s biggest opportunities might just be hidden in this season. Let’s be faithful and discerning, walking in wisdom and grace.

So if you can, join us Sunday, May 31st – Pentecost Sunday!

We love you all,
Pastor Jeremy and Darci

P.S. We can’t wait to see you tonight at Drive-In Worship at 6:30 pm!

Covid-19 Re-entry Update

May 6th, 2020|

Dear C2 Family,

Darci and I miss you all so much! We miss seeing your faces and giving you hugs and high-fives.  If absence makes the heart grow fonder, our fondness of you is overwhelming!

Many of you, like us, are wondering when we can gather again to worship and fellowship in-person. To tell you the truth, I was hoping it would be much sooner. I know many of us have grown weary of the guidelines and restrictions. Our team has been praying for you all, especially those whose livelihoods have been affected by these economy-crushing dictates.

As everyone adjusts to everything reopening, we too are prayerfully discussing how our church can also reopen. The county and city restrictions make it difficult for a church our size to navigate exactly how and when to reopen.  We desire to balance honoring those in authority while also not surrendering our right to freely assemble and worship.  Our first priority is to honor God in all that we do. We desire to operate in a way that keeps people safe but not operate out of fear of disease, government, or public opinion. We understand and honor those who are ready to get out and resume life and those who want or need to be more cautious.

For at least the next two Sundays (May 10th and 17th), we will continue our online-only services on Sunday.  We have scheduled two Friday Night Drive-in Worship and Prayer services on May 15th and 29th at 6:30 pm. Our team, as we have been, will continue to assess and decide our next steps and communicate them to you.

We are also using this time to finish our foyer renovation that was put on hold when this crisis first started.  We are now into the reconstruction phase and we want to be able to welcome everyone back in the building with less of a mess and more of it completed.

I’m reminded of the Apostle Paul’s words to Timothy in  2 Timothy 1:3-6:
I thank God, whom I serve, as my ancestors did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. Recalling your tears, I long to see you, so that I may be filled with joy. I am reminded of your sincere faith… For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”

I ask you to continue to worship with us online. Don’t just watch. Worship. Don’t multitask. Take notes. Teach your kids.  Host a watch party with unchurched friends and family. Gather with another family to worship. Get a small group together to worship. Don’t stop being The Church. The Mission has not stopped.

Until we meet again or Jesus returns,

Pastor Jeremy and Darci Risner

Love in Name of Christ

April 24th, 2020|

C2 Family,

I look forward to worshipping with you again this weekend. We really are a church without walls. One church, many locations! Even if it is online, my heart joins with yours in worshipping God. I find joy and strength as your pastor knowing we continue to worship each week together in spirit.

“God is bringing us through.” That’s what I keep telling people and encouraging them with. God will see us all through this. May this season refine us, refresh us, and bring us to repentance. My prayer for all of us is that we will know Jesus better when this storm passes. I am asking God for a new level of faith for myself, and for us all, to trust Him and His ways.

In the meantime, let us continue to share the Gospel. Let’s invite people into faith and hope in Jesus. Let’s grow together as disciples as we help disciple others. Let’s continue to care for one another as Jesus cares for us.

What needs do you have? Is there a need in your life that your C2 Church family can help meet? You can let us know at C2Church.com/Hope.

People continue to ask me how they can help.  Perhaps you, like others, are wondering how your stimulus money can make the biggest difference. Some families are in desperate need of that money, while others are deciding what they are going to use this “extra” money for. I believe one way you can invest what you have received would be Kingdom Builders.

Kingdom Builders is our way of committing to people and projects that help build God’s Kingdom in meaningful ways here and now. We have over 50 missionary and ministry partners all around the globe, and right here in mid-Missouri, that we support on a monthly basis. Each year we commit Kingdom Builder funds to people and projects as well. One of our long-time community partners, Love, INC is in need of greater financial support during this crisis.  Since the pandemic hit, they have served more homeless families (17) with children in a few weeks than they see in a single year. They depend on donations from the community, including churches like ours. Love INC helps to meet immediate needs like temporary housing, food, and personal care as well as helping them with unemployment paperwork, budgeting and re-entering the workforce. As the economic toll of this crisis rolls forward, their ability to meet the need is limited. But this is what Kingdom Builders is all about! Their name literally stands for “Love In the Name of Christ.”  We are able to respond with generosity in this moment because of the ongoing generosity of our people through Kingdom Builders. So today, we have committed above our monthly support of Love, INC, an immediate $5,000 to be followed up by another $5,000 in the next few months.

If you haven’t yet, would you consider becoming a Kingdom Builder, either through a one-time gift or a recurring gift? Every dollar goes directly to support our missionary and ministries partners.

Thank you for your partnership in the mission as we share the love of Christ,

Pastor Jeremy

A Letter from The Lead Pastor

March 27th, 2020|

Dear C2 Family,

In these unprecedented times, we can be sure God is still with us and in control.  Though times might be uncertain, I am certain that God is doing some of His best work in us. I know it has caused me to seek Him more and lean not on my own understanding. I am learning to trust him each day.

I know many of you are affected differently because of job situations: healthcare workers and first responders, “non-essential” employees who can’t work, and small business owners who are wondering if they can make it through all this.

All of the changes that we are facing does not change the fact that we are the Church. So, each Sunday at 10AM, we will continue to worship together. It may just be from our living rooms with church online at c2church.com instead of in our physical building. We are one church in many locations! Our homes will be each of our base of operations to reach more and more people for the Gospel.

The Pastoral Team at C2 is doing our best to provide resources, daily content via digital means, and even personal contact through old school phone calls! We are working hard to keep us all connected and use this time as a catalyst for personal and spiritual growth. Keep up to date on our Facebook (@c2churchcomo) and on our website at c2church.com.

Our ministry not only continues but grows stronger because of your faithfulness in giving. Your financial gifts are more important than ever during this time of crisis. The best way you can give right now is online at c2church.com/give. If you need help setting up your online giving, please email Jenny Johnson, our Business Director, at jennyj@c2church.com. If you are unable to give online, gifts can still be mailed to 3300 S. Providence Rd, Columbia, MO 65203. Our staff will be checking that frequently.

We know that COVID-19 has disrupted our everyday normal. Along with that, we understand that some of you have been affected more than others. If that is you, we, as your C2 Family, want to pray with you and support you during this time. Please email us at  info@c2church.com

Our God will not fail us in this time. I can’t wait to worship with you in person soon. Until then, let’s find creative ways to grow our faith and connection as well as encourage and support one another.

May His Kingdom Come,

Pastor Jeremy Risner

7 Things You Should Know For Church This Weekend

March 17th, 2020|

As of now, all on-campus meetings (Bible studies, Youth ministry, etc) are suspended until April 6th. For the next two Sundays, we will utilize our online campus for a single, 10AM service together. Please plan on joining your church family for this time together. Even though we are separated by space, we will still gather as the body of Christ. Stream with us live on Sunday right HERE!

7 things you should know for this weekend:

  1. Our live feed will start at 9:45AM with our hosts available to respond to questions and bringing updates to you.
  2. We will start our service at 10AM in worship through singing.
  3. We will share together in the Word of God and prayer.
  4. Our C2 Kids ministry will also have resources available to help the whole family participate.
  5. We also will receive communion together as an act of community, celebrating the Lord’s Supper. Plan on having something like bread or a cracker as well as juice (or something) as symbols of Jesus’ broken body and shed blood. (Dr. Pepper and a goldfish cracker will count!)
  6. Drive-thru Prayer: Following service from 11AM-Noon, we are going to have “drive-thru prayer.” If you would like someone to pray with, we encourage you to drive under the awning of the church and pray with the church team and leadership from the safety of your car.
  7. You can give online. During this uncertain time, your giving helps sustain the ministry operations of C2 Church. You can give at c2church.com/give.

Additional Notes:

As of now, we are just looking at the next couple of weeks and will make further decisions down the road as things develop.

Water Baptisms: We want to be able to celebrate water baptisms as a church family. With this in mind, we are postponing them for now. Our plan as of now is to celebrate as soon as we can once we meet as a large group again.

You can get involved! We are actively working on ways for you to get involved as we navigate COVID-19 together. We are starting to organize potential neighborhood campuses, as well as opening up multiple ways for people to step up and be the church that God is calling us to be!
